In just three months’ time a partial ban on cruel sow stalls will come into force across Europe. This will mean millions of sows no longer have to endure most of their lives inside a narrow metal cage. But, despite knowing about this ban since 2001, appallingly, many Italian farmers will not be ready on time.
Compassion In World Farming your help to put as much pressure as possible on the Italian Government to encourage them to get ready for the ban.
Italy has a reputation as a holiday destination and producer of high quality food, but all that could change if people knew the conditions in which many Italian farm animals are kept.
Italian sows’ welfare really depends on it.
