Animal Welfare Campaigners Cut Up Rough Over Trafford Centre Aquarium Plan

Animal welfare campaigners are opposing ambitious plans to build a huge aquarium near the Trafford Centre.

Owners of the shopping city want to build the multi-million pound aquarium in the former Habitat shop at the Barton Square annexe next to the mall.

The proposed Sealife centre would house a range of fish, including dozens of sharks, and other creatures. Operated by Merlin Entertainments, which has 13 Sealife aquaria around the UK, the 2,000 sq ft development would cover two floors and employ 40 staff…
