Twitchers have ticked a dream bird off their ‘wish list’ after a feathery friend visited a South Tyneside wildlife spot.
A greenshank and a grey heron both dropped by Whitburn Nature Reserve on Wednesday.
The birds caused much excitement among members of the Coastal Conservation Group (CCG) volunteers, as the reserve’s two ponds has only been up and running for a few weeks.
