Council Backs Down Over Rubbish-Dump-Cat After Public Campaign Launched

A cat which lives at a city rubbish tip is to be rehomed after a red tape row with a local authority.

Nicknamed Stig of the Dump, after the popular children’s book, the cat has lived at Inverness Recycling and Waste Centre for more than a decade.

The elderly cat helps keep the site free of mice and rats but is not owned by any of the staff there and his vets bills are paid for by donations from generous visitors to the dump.

Exotic Animal Widow Wants To Reclaim Surviving Animals

The wife of the Ohio exotic animal owner who freed the creatures before shooting himself in his driveway last week has launched a legal bid to reclaim the surviving animals.

Lawyers for Marian Thompson have contacted the Columbus Zoo, where the animals were taken after the full-scale big game hunt in Zanesville, about taking back three leopards, a grizzly bear and two monkeys.
