399 Penguins Fly South

Two months ago more than 1000 juvenile penguins were washed up in poor condition on the coast of north-east Brazil. Local wildlife groups acted quickly to rescue about 850 of the animals but sadly many died on the beach.

IFAW’s blog reports on the operation to fly 399 rehabilitated Magnellanic penguins 1000′s of kilometers south towards their breeding ground close to Antarctica.
