No Scientific Validity For Welsh Badger Cull
January 22nd, 2008
Members of the Welsh Assembly say a badger cull should be part of a ‘holistic’ approach to tackling TB in cattle. But the RSPCA and Badger Trust Cymru strongly disagree, the Trust’s Mike Sharratt says:
“The science clearly shows that badgers’ small role in this disease occurs when they are in farm buildings looking for food.”He added, “Better cattle testing and excluding badgers from farm buildings is a win-win solution and we hope that the assembly government has the wisdom to implement it”.

Nice Site! Thanks!
How can we blame an animal that has been native to this country for eons if not forever? What needs to be looked at is the things that have changed over the last decade or so, local abattoirs have been closed forcing our livestock to be transported further-spreading disease. Farms now buy in new livestock from all over the country again spreading disease. Livestock has been pumped with antibiotics when not needed this has now been proven to cause weak immune systems. Growth hormones must also create this by going against nature. Farming methods have changed and too many farms are now run by people who come from the city and don’t have the background knowledge needed to successfully run a healthy farm. We are all looking to be ‘greener’ find a local butcher who gets his meat from a local farmer and stop moving everything we eat round the world and back again before it gets to your plate! Stop blaming badgers. I wish good luck to all that support the badgers!!
