Primates Destined For European Labs Kept In Appalling Conditions Reveals The BUAV

New Footage shot by a BUAV (British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection) undercover investigator has revealed the misery of Macaque monkeys kept in appalling conditions in the Spanish town of Camarles, destined for laboratories in Europe.

The BUAVdescribe the primates horrendous facility as a ‘Guantánamo-style prison’, they go on to say, ’animals at  Camarles are kept in bare concrete and metal cages under the searing Spanish sun before being sent to European laboratories to end their lives undergoing painful experiments.’

The investigation also showed that sadly the use of primates in European labs is soaring. England is supposed to be a nation of animal lovers yet we have the second highest use of primates for testing (currently around 3,000) pipped by France.

The BUAV’s  investigation showed, the use of primates in laboratories across Europe is rapidly escalating. Britain, supposedly a nation of animal lovers, currently have over 3,000 primates in laboratories – the second highest number in Europe – Pipped at the post by France
